00120 - Seascapes and Shorelines

Fishing boat lying on the sands at low tide in Almouth Harbour, Northumberland England.
Alnmouth was a trading port for grain and like many small coastal villages had it's fair share of smugglers.
In the background stands Church Hill the site of the old church.
The church was destroyed during a violent storm in 1806 which also altered the course of the river, a cross now marks the spot where the church stood.
